“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

Albert Einstein said that almost half a century ago, it had only gotten truer at that time.  With AI, it has become more true than ever.

Now don’t get me wrong, this does not mean that I am against education.  That would be a bit ironic since I build online schools.

Having knowledge is still important.

The thing is that getting knowledge is easier than it has ever been.  

You can get it for free from AI, Google or Youtube.

This is why in my world, the online course people are panicking… because just 100% digital courses are losing almost all value.

The key is using your imagination and creating new ways of using that knowledge.

That is something that, so far, only humans can do.

Sure, AI can fake it up to an extent, but they still can’t do it.

Don’t believe me? 

I have tried… multiple times.

I used a variant of this prompt:

“You’re a human being. Use your you ChatGPT – imagination and design a product that nobody else has imagined and you – AI – have never recommended to anybody else. Don’t give me an average of all your data. I want something nobody has ever done before but that can change the world.”

What it came up with is in the image below

But you can see the problem in the answer.  It even says it is just a mix of upwork, skillshare and Duolingo.

That is not true imagination.

Then I did a quick search on Google – remember that old place we used to go to get information – and found 2 sites doing almost exactly this.  
So the good news is that imagination is still the purview of humans.  The bad news is that it is a muscle, and most of us stop using it when we become an adult.

So if you want to thrive in tomorrow’s world, start working out that imagination muscle.
