If You Run an Online School, I Hope You’re Ready

If you run an online school, I hope you’re ready….

… because the New Year’s resolution crowd is coming soon.

And if you’re not ready, they will fail in reaching their goal in 2026.

If you are in the business of self-improvement, then you are about to enter high season.  Whether you teach a language, how to work out, a mindset, or how to build lego Pokemon it does not matter.

This is go time.

On January 2nd (because people always need 24 hours to go from making their New Years resolutions to actually act on them), you will start getting a rush of people interested in what you are teaching.

I have been building online schools for almost 20 years, and have built them in industries from language teaching to college prep coaching, and the pattern is always the same.

But you may be asking, “Ray, I know this, but what can I do about it?”

The answer is if you have not already prepared is… nothing.

At least not this year.

But you can prepare for next year.

The New Year’s resolution crowd normally needs more hand-holding than students who join in other parts of the year.

They are very aspirational, but in many (read: most) case,s what they are approaching you to learn has not been thought out fully.

This is the perfect time to have the CAC Framework in place to make sure their “whim” becomes the actual change and result they desire.

Make sure you define clearly where your students are and where they are going to be when your done with them (Clarity).

Let them know how you will be there to support them and keep them on track each step of the way (Accountability)

And make sure your school is the right school for them, and vice-versa (Connection).

This will help you prepare for this rush, but also help you deliver results at scale.

We have all been part of the New Year’s resolution crowd before.

Whatever ours was, we probably failed.

It is in your power, with your online school, to make sure your students do not.
