Do. Or Do Not. There is No Try.

“I don’t believe it.”

“That is why you fail.”

Sometimes starting your first business feels like being stuck on a distant planet surrounded by nothing but swamp and having to figure out how to survive.

Some people get there because they choose to be there and believe it is the only way they can reach their goal.

Some people end up there by accident due to the circumstances in life and feel marooned.

No matter how you get there, there is only one way to get out.

To learn and grow, or give up.

If you choose to give up, then the journey is over.

If you choose to go forward… then there is only one answer.

“Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

You see, most people who go into entrepreneurship think that success is based on the idea.

As somebody who has launched 22 profitable companies and failed at many more, I can tell you that that is the easy part.

The hardest part of entrepreneurship is continuing when things get rough.

Most people think that they will start making money the first week and be successful the first year.

Sure, some people may have done that, and you might have read about it in books or seen the movies… but have you ever asked yourself why there are books and movies about these people?

It’s because the chances of that happening are about the same as you winning the lottery.

For most people, entrepreneurship is the belief that you can make it through even when you are doing a one-handed handstand while trying to balance a rock in the air and have a green alien on your leg.

Very few make it through that.

But those that do, come out stronger.  So that when they have to face downturns in the business, have their key employee quit in high season, or are chosen to destroy the Death Star, they are more prepared.

They know, they don’t have the luxury to try.

The only thing they can do… is do.
